Your Captain

Captain Erik's many years of experience on the water ensure a safe and enjoyable day exploring the area.

Taking his first cross-Atlantic sail at age 12 on a 42-foot sailboat, Captain Erik grew up on the water. His summer jobs included running launches for marinas and rigging sailboats. He spent 15 years as a professional merchant mariner, including delivering food to underdeveloped nations for the USAID World Food program and working on Diego Garcia, delivering munitions for the first gulf war.

Captain Erik holds a US Coast Guard 100-ton Master's license, which is the highest captain's license level you can obtain. His training includes CPR, Emergency Medical Tech (EMT), firefighting and other on-board emergency skills. He has also been an instructor in boating safety for the state of Virginia.
